YouTube Said No
So, I applied for YouTube monetization and YouTube partner support said that my account doesn't meet program criteria. Specifically, here it says our specialists found that it doesn't meet our program criteria. I'm not really sure how many specialists um they said that they can't provide specific reasons.
If you look in this email, it says uh we can't respond to inquiries regarding the specific reasons for our decisions. That's standard. Support teams have to avoid commenting on specific people because it opens them up to discrimination lawsuits. I don't expect YouTube to be any different. So, that's just standard big corporation stuff.
But that means that I have to guess on what's wrong with the channel. I have a lot of thoughts, but I have to restrain myself. I'll name the three most likely reasons. Number one is that I obviously have YouTube videos that YouTube themselves might not like. So for example, the verification badge video comes to mind.
Uh in that video I say that YouTube doesn't themselves do a realtime uh live interview to verify identity. As far as I know, that is a fact, but it admittedly can cause distrust of YouTube. Um, I should say that I do not believe that people should distrust YouTube. There is a lot of good content on YouTube from established creators.
Number two is that I use the AI tag on my most popular video. Um, and YouTube doesn't want to monetize AI or doesn't want to monetize AI. Maybe I should have not used that tag, but I did use AI in that video to generate that AI doctor. And I believe in having that integrity when I upload a video, which here, let me just show you how to upload or what that tag is.
It's just when you're uploading a video, you have this yes or no question. Did you use AI? Do you not use AI? I selected yes because I did use AI to generate that that doctor. The third is that there are a lot of hateful comments on my YouTube videos. I let [snorts] them stay up because I believe in free speech.
It's one of the reasons why I love being in the USA. But admittedly, it can cause or it can make some people very uncomfortable. So that might discourage YouTube from monetizing me. Those are my best three guesses. I had some other ones, but they felt too speculative or too emotional. So from now on on YouTube, I one will make my videos more tame um so that YouTube doesn't dislike them.
If they do, I'm not sure if they do. [gasps and sighs] Uh, number two is that I won't be uploading or using AI in my videos so that I don't have to check that AI use box, which again is a speculated reason on why I did not get monetized. And number three is that I will be more proactive in addressing objections within the video.
And by doing that, that should that should reduce the amount of hateful comments on my YouTube videos. Uh because, you know, people can see that I'm acknowledging their perspective beforehand. It's why I've been saying speculative in this video all along. Okay. At the end of the day, it is just a specialist or a group of specialists going through each channel and applying their discretion.
They're probably just going through each checklist. And I'm not big enough right now to get an exception, I don't think. So, I'm going to keep making videos on YouTube. Uh, but you know, I'm going to be proceeding with those three changes that I just mentioned. I will probably also stream on other websites to diversify where I can earn money for my content.
