DEXA Scans Are Lying to You About Body Fat

My Dexa results from my day 40 were completely wrong. Everyone says that Dexa is great. And yeah, the science for DEXA is very solid. Before you make a foul loss decision off DEXA, you should know that the science also says that Dexa can fail. So, I did research with the world's best and I have proof to show you that my day 40 Dexa results from last video were completely wrong.

The first proof is my day 60 results, which is the first thing that alerted me. Okay, I uh I just came back from my day 60 DEXA and it's not what I expected. Uh it says, if I'm reading this right, it says that my total body fat percentage has increased. You can see that it says that my trunk fat percentage is 12.

5%. Okay, so I originally got Dexa done because a friend of mine insisted, and you can't blame him. Everybody says that Dexa is the best way to measure body fat percentage etc. And DEXA is great for tracking fat loss, like a DEXA scan, but it's gonna give you a lot more. I should have done it as a DEXA scan, but it was completely wrong for me.

And I'm going to show you the proof now. On day 16, my DEXA scan results seem correct. They said my trunk body fat percentage is about 12. 5%. Which seems correct. Like if you look at the video from earlier that day, it actually does look like 12. 5% compared to other videos or pictures on the internet is what you'd expect.

And it also said my total body fat percentage is 15. 8. I just carry a little bit more in my legs. So that's my D860. My D40 results were the ones that were the problem. The DEXA scan said that my trunk fat percentage was 9. 6% and my total fat percentage was 12. 6%. So that's 20 days before, but it's 3% lower.

But that can be possible for two reasons. One is that I had a caloric deficit, a daily caloric deficit of about 500 calories a day. And you can see that in that I lost about 5 lbs over that period. And number two is that it looks like my day 40 was higher than my day 60 visibly in the pictures. We already established that my day 60 was about 12 to 13%.

So, I could have lost fat visibly but gained fat mass and percentage. It's just not possible. I also like you should know that I actually got stronger in that period. My maxes went up. So, I don't think I lost any muscles. If you instead assume that I lost 2 to 3% body fat percentage or that period, which is what I believe, then my trunk fat percentage should have been about 15%.

So, that's about a 5% error, which is huge. by the body. They assume that the DEX results were the gold standard. That's on me. You probably also seen many images of 9. 6% body fat. And you can tell that I did not look like I had 9. 6% uh trunk fat. And I should have known probably better than anybody that imaging results have error.

Like imaging technology was the focus of my research. Okay. Well, I don't want you to have the same shitty experience that I had. So, I'm going to share with you this text result that I found. So this study found that the GLNR which I used for day 40 underestimated body fat mass and percentage in Korean adults.

So they measured about two less kilos of body fat on average which is about a 2 to 3% body fat difference. That's similar to what I experienced. This other study showed that you can have a 2 kg trunk fat difference even within the same brain. That's about a 5% body fat difference. That's the difference between 10% and 15%.

But look, it doesn't matter. These differences, these numbers don't matter. What matters is completely up to you, right? You can play the DEXA game, you can play the way skill game, you can play the biological impedance game. I want to have visible abs so I take videos every 10 days where I can see the abs, I can monitor my progress, and I can make decisions about what to do next or not to do.

If you're serious about fat loss, let others know in the comments so you have some accountability. And also let me know if you think I should get a day 80 dexa scan. I don't really care, but I would do for
